Barry Boyd first visited Haiti in 2007 and 2008, traveling on mission trips with his church, Centenary United Methodist in Winston Salem, NC. His interest in the people of Haiti was rekindled several years later after meeting Pastor Leon Dorleans in Winston Salem during his visit to First Presbyterian Church. Soon thereafter, Barry visited HOM along with a team from First Presbyterian and returned to his home church with a strong message, “Let’s partner with HOM!” Barry led the first Centenary Methodist trip to HOM in October 2014 and several more since then. Barry’s business career was focused on marketing, and he puts his skills and experiences into service for HOM by leading communications efforts as well as serving on the economic development initiative committee.
Barry and his wife Sara have six sons and make their home in Winston Salem, NC and Charleston, SC.
