Ministering Holistically
In September 2015 , a new secondary school opened in the Port-au-Prince area of Haiti. This new school at Barye Fe, now serving seventh through twelfth graders, opened 25 years after Haiti Outreach Ministries (HOM) started its first school in Cité Soleil. HOM’s four schools, including the Barye Fe campus, are integral in HOM’s efforts to minister holistically to the destitute people of Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
HOM facilities and programs include:
- Three churches with a combined weekly attendance of more than 3,200
- A medical clinic which provides both medical and dental services and treats approximately 20,000 patients annually
- Four water filtration systems, providing clean water to 60,000 people
- Vocational classes in sewing and computer science serving more than 350 adults
- Three primary schools serving nearly 1400 students
- The Barye Fe secondary school currently serving over 400 students grades 7 -12
- A new campus under development that will be home to job training initiatives and a Bible College
“Many young men like me became gangsters, and now most of them are dead. But at school and through Mme. Jacky, I found the right way to live.”
